Down, but not out....

Cough..... Cough...

YEAH! After a weekend of work, I'm now sick and kinda getting over the flew not swine flu.

So Saturday was SBCS open house, where the public was invited to come see what the school had to offer, pertainning to the different courses.

I basically had to work in the AV room, where persons was allowed to come see the Documentaries and Productions our class worked on during the last semster. They were amazed to see the kind of work we had done over the years, and I had to answer the questions especailly on the documentaries.

So all in all, it was a sucessful day, seeing that everyone came out and do what was required.

Now back to my T.V. Ad.

More Knowledge , More Experience

Experience, Experience, Experience = More Knowledge

Photoshop class on Wednesday evening was amazing, because I have once again learnt something new. YEAH! Editing and merging three photos together was real nice making it become a beauty for a DVD cover. Yeah that was cool...

However, last evening (Thursday) I was called out to go on a shoot with a cast of popular persons to do a shoot for a Television series. Not sure exactly what’s the name of the show, but however it’s something very interesting especially for the youth of the nation concerning the global economy.

I was the official Audio man / Mixer Guy/ Boom Operator / and Technician. It was a heavy load, but I maintain my roll and it was a great success. The crew was very proud of my work and the way, in which I handle things, so I have to work again on the shoot tonight. YEAH!
First experience doing a shoot.......

And NO! I did not volunteer. I work for that paper. Heheh!

I know it’s been a while since my last update.

Have no fair; I’m on the right track, just a little delay with starting the Television Ad. But I have started cutting out the pieces of footage from the concert that I would want to use in the Ad.

So keeping on checking out this blog for more soon come again. BYE!

Some more Footage

Obama, Obama, Obama...

Just saw on television, some history in the making as the first African American President Barrack Obama landed at the Piarco International Airport. This was a thrilling moment for my family and I, as we sat with our eyes wide open watching the live broadcast on television.

President Obama is here to meet the heads of some thirty-three other countries, of the western hemisphere. This would take place in Port of Spain Trinidad within the next three (3) days as Trinidad and Tobago host the 5ht Summit of the Americas.

However, today feels like a holiday, but that’s not official so it work for me as usual. ARHHHHH!

Today, I have also received some footage for Journey the Concert, from a source at a popular media house. This footage would be use in the Television Commercial, which I would be hopefully starting this week coming.

Also, I meet with my lecturer early this week and she was please with the progress of my Media Project, so far. I showed her the poster and let her listen to the radio commercial. She asked about the footage for the concert, I told her I would try to get some and "Yes I did".

That’s a wrap for now folks!

Journey Report

The Journey Continues, Tobago tonight.

The voices, the people and the colours of reggae music were in full sight last night (Saturday).

Journey the Concert, was a great success as the venue was ram to capacity. As advertise the show was on schedule. By 11p.m. the venue was packed with patrons who were accompanied by the special guest D.j’s throughout the evening into morning, gearing up the crowd for showtime.

Local Reggae Star Jah Melody graced the stage with his presents, at about 11:30p.m. as he performed a number of his hits songs.

Afterwards, the Richie Spice was introduced on stage, and was welcomed with a great crowd response. The patrons greeted him with flames from their lighters, as signal from their cell phones wave from left to right in the air. After a few seconds Spice responded to the crowd with the traditional greeting saying, “Greetings in the name of the highest Jah - Rastafari”! Backed up by Jah Cure’s band “Highly Cure”, Spice had the patrons in a frenzy while he sang some of the his biggest songs in the reggae industry such as Brown Skin, Earth Run Red, Gideon Boot, Eye don’t See, Street Life and Black Like A Tar. During his performance, Spice enlighten the youth of living a more positive life, and striving for the betterment of living.

Richie Spice performed for approximately 1hr 15min's. Spice performance was well received by the patrons as he was called back on stage for an Encore.

The main performance was Jah Cure, gracing the stage at King George the V Park at approximately 1:30a.m. Wearing a full suite of white, Jah Cure suddenly appeared on stage a few minutes after he was introduced by the MC of the show. This made the crowd go wild, while he had the ladies screaming at the top of their voices. As he appeared Cure had to to stop the band, because he wanted to talk to his people before going further, saying “Trinidad meh love yuh, Trinidad me love yuh, YEAH!” That was his main line throughout his entire performance.

As Cure sang into the microphone, the vibes some were feeling was like something they never experienced before, raising the pours of some many, while other could only stand in shock. Jah Cure was in full swing interacting with the audience letting them be a part of the action, while they sang along with him.
Cure who’s currently dominating the reggae industry with his smashing hits like, Call on me, Only You, Two Way Street, and Journey brought it live to the stage delivering what some people taught was amazing. Cure like Richie Spice was called back on stage numerous times for an Encore performance. As he seemed to be really interested in the lady’s saying “Trini Girls yuh ah D the best niceness looking girls in the Caribbean".

Cure performance lasted about two and a half hours before his time was up and the show came to an end by 3a.m.

On my side, I had my V.I.P pass, but did not get me enough access that I needed to capture footage, because there was backstage but security was beefed up and they weren't taking any chance letting anyone in that section. In the V.I.P section the crowd was like a general crowd, so I did not want to get crush due to the number of people who was already in front of the stage.

However, my digital cam was put to some use where I got to capture some live audio and some photos, not to the best quality so not sure if I would be posting them up. I would edit and mix some of the audio and post it up as soon as possible, so you would get a vibes about how the concert was.

That’s me for now.....

Doing my Do!

WOW! It's been so long I haven't log-in, DAMM!

Wow its a few days, since i updated this blog. I was up to alot, LOL!.

Saw a few comments too......

YES! Just to let you guys know I have everything under controll, no need to ponder, hehehe.

I have finished my first Radio Commercial and was thinking about posting it up on the blog, but that just won't happen. ohhhhh! Don't worry you would be able to hear it when its the right time.

However, I'm also close to completing my poster. All the main information has already been edited and lay ed out, the colour was hard to choose so that's in place. Now to proof read and finalize everything before printing.

After this long Easter Weekend, I would be starting work on the Television Ad. I did not get any response from the promoter as allot of my calls has gone unanswered.

So I think for the last time I would call today, and if that's the case ...

I would be purchasing my ticket tomorrow and heading in with my digital camera to get ah piece of the action. YEAH!

So basically thats it for now...Peace out!

Production

Production on Radio Ad.

Today, I have done some more work on the Radio Commercial. However, I near to finish, I know I said that in the last post. LOL! Don't worry you know how it does be sometimes.
Also, I want to produce a second Radio Commercial because I would be getting some additional vocals from the promoter. For this one, I would want to do a follow up to the one I'm currently working on. Where I would probably work around it, an add some more of the artist music. Producing it slightly difference from the current one.

Production.

Photoshop Experience...

Today I have gain some great knowledge about photo shop and its basic use. However, I hope to learn more next week. As I was taught a few little things today (Yesterday) having done a crash course. I thing this would be most beneficial in designing my poster for this project.

I have also started to work on my Radio Commercial, putting the vocals together, adding some riddim or instrumentals and just to get some effects to suite its the content. And hopefully that should take care of that.

I'm gone again!
